Case Manager, Political Risk
Alp advises clients on Turkey, the Caucasus and sub-Saharan Africa. He brings with him a wealth of knowledge in each jurisdiction in which he operates, providing clients with critical insight into the nexus between politics and business, with a focus on how these factors directly impact investors’ business strategies and on-going operations. Alp has particular expertise in the extractive sector, providing clients in hostile environments with intelligence and investigative support on ‘above ground risks’.
Recent work includes:
· An ongoing multi-jurisdictional asset trace on a major corporate debtor;
· Political risk analysis in Serbia, Sudan and the UAE;
· Mapping the key political and economic players in Turkey for a range of clients;
Alp holds a BA in Social Sciences from Sciences Po Paris and an MA with Distinction in Turkish Studies from the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS). In addition to his native Turkish, Alp speaks Japanese and French.
