Principal Analyst, Political Risk
Christopher Tooke advises clients in the extractive sectors on political and economic risks to their investments in the Central Asian and South Caucasus regions. He helps clients understand the political and social context to their investments, and advises them on changes in the business climate and patterns of influence among political and business elites. He also assists GPW’s Business Intelligence practice on Russia-/CIS-related projects.
Chris holds a doctorate in Russian literature from UCL/SSEES, where he also taught on undergraduate Russian language and culture courses. Before joining GPW, he worked as a copy editor and freelance analyst for The Economist Intelligence Unit, contributing articles on political developments in post-Soviet countries.
