Marc is the Founder and CEO of Sapiens Advisors, an international consulting company working with global institutions providing advisory services in raising capital, strategic acquisitions, corporate governance, financial management, and investor relations.
From 1997-2015, Marc worked at AIG Capital Partners, a leading private equity investor in the emerging markets. The investments that Marc lead and was involved with were primarily in Russia and Central Asia. He was appointed Managing Director in 2010 and managed the Moscow office. He was based in Almaty from 1998-2000. Currently serves as an Independent Director with the National Investment Corporation ("NIC"), a wholly-owned subsidiary of the National Bank of Kazakhstan ("NBK"). NIC's mandate is to prudently and profitably invest a portion of NBK's reserves in leading global private equity and hedge fund managers.
From 1992-1995, Marc worked as a contractor for the United States Agency for International Development, where he was involved in projects that focused on privatization strategies in several countries of the former Soviet Union (Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, and Kyrgyzstan). Marc holds an MBA with a concentration in finance from Georgetown University and a BA in Soviet Studies from Tufts University.
