Philip Worman is Managing Director of GPW and has over 20 years of experience in the political risk, business intelligence and investigations sector and has advised corporate and financial clients on their exposure to political, regulatory and operational risks in many emerging markets, with a particular focus on the Eurasian region, primarily Russia and Kazakhstan. He also leads the firm's Iran practice, focusing on helping clients manage sanctions exposure post-JCPOA.
Among other areas Philip has advised on:
Sanctions policy and risk mitigation for companies dealing with sanctioned entities (SDN/SSI);
Government relations, public affairs and advocacy issues in emerging markets, particularly in the extractive industries; and
The creation of political risk indices and risk methodologies for clients;
Philip is a frequent speaker on topics ranging from Eurasian energy issues, international sanctions and geopolitics. He has also featured as a commentator in the Financial Times, Vedomosti, Bloomberg and other prominent publications. Philip read Modern Languages at Downing College, Cambridge and spent several years working and studying in Russia. He speaks Russian, French and elementary Farsi.
